Prada put the skirt—in all its mini, midi, and maxi glory—at the center of the wardrobe, while Fendi, Etro, and others made a case for the bra-as-going-out-top. With its “skirt show” on the first day of Milan Fashion Week, Prada set the tone: trousers were out, skirts were in. Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons offered a version in every finish, shape, and length imaginable, and the idea carried through nearly every collection—from Jil Sander and Marni to MSGM and Moschino.

Is the bra the new going-out top? Milan’s making a case for it. Prada sent out angular versions, some with built-in bags, while Fendi, Etro, and Alberta Ferretti joined in on the fun. The New York and London runways flirted with underwear-as-outerwear; Milan put the bra front and center.
