Vandal graffitis Palestinian flag on Lod City Hall amid Iran missiles
According to the Lod Municipality, the graffiti was discovered early Sunday on the city’s new municipal building.
Graffiti depicting a Palestinian flag was sprayed overnight onto the facade of Lod City Hall on Saturday night, warranting a police investigation and a sharp condemnation from municipal officials, who described the act as a deliberate provocation aimed at inflaming tensions in an already sensitive period due to the renewed conflict with Iran.
According to the Lod Municipality, the graffiti was discovered early Sunday on the city’s new municipal building. A complaint was immediately filed with the Israel Police, and an investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible.
Authorities are reviewing security camera footage from the surrounding area.
In a statement, the municipality called the act “serious, ugly, and outrageous,” describing it as a deliberate attack on a governmental symbol and public property belonging to all residents. Officials said spraying a Palestinian flag on the building constituted a blatant provocation and an intentional attempt to inflame emotions and disrupt public order, particularly at a time they characterized as tense and requiring restraint.
Municipal workers removed the graffiti shortly after it was discovered, and the building was cleaned without delay. The city said it would not allow harm to symbols of sovereignty, public institutions, or what it described as the shared fabric of life in Lod, a mixed Jewish-Arab city that has faced periods of communal tension in the past.

Adding flames to Iran tensions
Roi Asulin, a resident who said he noticed the graffiti while passing by the building, described feeling unsettled by the sight. He said that seeing a Palestinian flag sprayed across City Hall during wartime felt different from ordinary vandalism and conveyed a message. Asulin added that he hopes police will identify those responsible and address the matter quickly.
Police confirmed that a complaint had been received and that an investigation is underway. No arrests have been reported as of publication.
