US: Wall Street opens higher as December Fed rate-cut bets grow

Wall Street’s main stock indexes opened higher on Wednesday (Nov 26), as investors parsed through a fresh batch of economic data and cemented expectations the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates in December.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 83.7 points, or 0.18 per cent, at the open to 47,196.15.

The S&P 500 rose 27.7 points, or 0.41 per cent, at the open to 6,793.55​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 137.6 points, or 0.60 per cent, to 23,163.194 at the opening bell. REUTERS
