US: S&P, Nasdaq open at record highs on US–EU deal optimism

[NEW YORK] The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq opened at record highs on Monday as a US-EU trade agreement boosted investor sentiment, kick-starting a pivotal week featuring megacap earnings, a Federal Reserve meeting, and a looming US tariff deadline.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 45.1 points, or 0.10 per cent, at the open to 44,946.98. The S&P 500 rose 9.0 points, or 0.14 per cent, to 6,397.69​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 68.1 points, or 0.32 per cent, to 21,176.401. REUTERS
