US: S&P 500, Nasdaq open higher on Alphabet boost; jobs data on tap

[NEW YORK] The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq opened higher on Wednesday (Sep 3) after Alphabet gained on a favourable antitrust ruling and investors awaited labour market data that could influence the central bank’s upcoming interest-rate decision.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 13.6 points, or 0.03 per cent, at the open to 45,309.43.

The S&P 500 rose 30.3 points, or 0.47 per cent, at the open to 6,445.82​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 182.0 points, or 0.86 per cent, to 21,461.627 at the opening bell. REUTERS
