The Upper East Side Showed Up to Celebrate the New Local Hot Spot: Spotless


The Upper East Side’s newest hot spot? An acne clinic. Nestled amongst the tony neighborhood’s boutique fitness studios and bustling eateries, Spotless is now open for business. On Wednesday evening, familiar faces from the beauty industry came by for a first look at the new venture by mother-daughter duo, Dr. Amy Wechsler and Zoe Wechsler.

Dr. Wechsler—the IYK, YK derm, board certified psychiatrist, and co-creator of the famed La Solution 10 De Chanel face cream—is no stranger to helping breakout-prone clients. While pursuing an MBA at Columbia Business School, Dr. Wechsler and her daughter found themselves brainstorming. “A lot of my mom’s patients had been asking for acne shots on the weekends or after-hours because they had a wedding or they had their own wedding,” Zoe Wechsler told Vogue. “At first, we thought about a clinic that was a pimple shot bar, but then we quickly realized it should be all about acne.”

Open six days a week at its new digs on Lexington Avenue and 75th Street, Spotless offers cortisone pimple shots, chemical peels, and professional extractions, as well as prescription consultations provided by nurse practitioners who are trained by Dr. Wechsler herself. “This is a dream come true,” an elated Dr. Wechsler said. “Zoe and I built this incredible team to help us reach as many people as we can. It feels like the beginning of something new, and the culmination of a life’s work, all at the same time. “

Attendees at the party were clearly excited too. In between sips of Chardonnay, whispers could be heard: “Do you think Dr. Amy could inject me quickly in the back?!” Another voice responded: “Well I have a holiday party this weekend—and I need help.”

While no emergency skincare procedures were ultimately on the agenda on opening night, partygoers didn’t seem to mind as they flooded the vicinity, draping their winter coats over examination chairs and precariously balancing glasses of wine with Spotless-branded aluminum water bottles. Elsewhere, guests complimented the navy and pink-hued interiors as they posed for pictures in their newly-acquired UES caps.

In between congratulatory hugs with the women of the hour, attendees made their way to a grazing station where the assortment of food was all inspired by a rather unconventional theme: spots. All inspired by the clinic’s slogan “break out, pop by”—there were pink pop drops, bite-size glistening tater tots, and gooey rounded chocolate truffles.
