The Best Dressed Stars of the Week Went Sculptural-Chic

The only thing better than a star-studded week of celebrity red carpet looks? When A-listers really go for it. This week, the best dressed stars were not afraid to stray from the norm: Strong, architectural shapes dominated the step and repeats, putting clear emphasis on bold sculpture. That meant loads dimensional shapes, textural finishes, and always, great colors too.

Take Kendall Jenner in her fringy-white chic Bottega Veneta gown—like she was a high-fashion pom-pom! The high leg slit and shortened sleeves hit all the right notes. Ditto for Dakota Johnson in her bohemian white lace Chloé dress. Thanks to the sheer fabrication and peplum-like waistline, the free-spirited design felt updated and fresh—less Y2K boho, more current.

Surprisingly, many of the week’s standout style moments were in subdued shades of black, too. In Marrakech, Anya Taylor-Joy shone in her black Tom Ford gown by Haider Ackermann. The strappy, sheery design was sexy in a subtle way. In Paris,Zoe Saldaña began her Avatar: Fire and Ash press tour in a leather three-dimensional Balenciaga top, paired with classic black dress trousers. A cool, if not futuristic, take on stealthy-chic Parisian style. And given Avatar is a big-budget flick, something tells us the rest of her press tour looks are going to be just as good. Buckle up!
