Subway’s Qatar development rights go to Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff

Subway has signed a new master franchise arrangement with Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff, granting the company exclusive responsibility for operating and developing all locations of the sandwich chain in Qatar.

Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff is part of Al Mana International Holding and already runs multiple Subway outlets in the country.

It has been involved with the brand locally under a development deal since 2010 and manages a wider portfolio of international quick-service restaurant concepts.

Subway Europe, Middle East and Africa president Tracy Gehlan stated: “Subway has become a favourite in Qatar, driven by growing demand from guests who value freshly made, convenient, and affordable meals.

“With proven experience operating Subway restaurants, Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff is perfectly positioned to accelerate growth and welcome even more guests across the region.”

The company is expected to implement Subway’s current restaurant design and continue upgrades to digital operations across both new and existing restaurants, with an emphasis on operational performance and service levels.

Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff CEO Abdulrahman Al Mana commented: “We’re excited to advance our partnership with Subway.

“As a globally recognised brand with a distinctive offering, Subway has been setting the standard for fresh, quality meals in Qatar and together we’re committed to delivering an exceptional experience for every guest.”

The deal forms part of Subway’s broader push in the Middle East.

Since 2021, the chain has entered six master franchise agreements in the region, which have generated commitments for more than 800 new outlets.

Globally, Subway has concluded upwards of 25 master franchise contracts in the same period, with plans for more than 10,000 new restaurants.

“Subway’s Qatar development rights go to Alamtiazat Al Alamyah Food Stuff” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
