With the season fast approaching, I've been thinking long and hard about the most important shoe style to buy ahead of autumn's arrival, and after lots of deliberation, I've settled on sneakers. They're comfy and, therefore, perfect for enjoying the short-but-sweet brisk weather that fall brings. They also go with everything, from warm-weather staples like white skirts and slip dresses to chillier essentials like sweaters and jeans. Fall is a transitional season, so your shoes need to be versatile, which sneakers certainly are. I love sports just as much as (or probably more than) the next person, but when it comes to my non-fitness sneakers, I prefer a mild approach to sportiness—probably because I'm not planning to work out in them.
