As Massimo Giorgetti put it, “I honestly wanted to disconnect—to hit pause, to switch on airplane mode.” And really, who could blame him? We’re immersed in a constant barrage of noise so loud it borders on the unbearable. In that context, Giorgetti’s slogans read less like fashion statements and more like survival strategies. Keep calm and carry on might just as well have made a cameo across the front of a tee. It seems that the most radical gesture in fashion is simply asking for a moment of peace.
Giorgetti kept things simple. For both women’s pre-fall and men’s fall, he delivered a streamlined, no-nonsense edit of daywear essentials, pieces that don’t clamor for attention or try to pass as “fancy,” but instead prioritize ease, comfort, and wearability. “I wanted to focus on intimacy, reality, a kind of no-frills policy, with a lower, more soothing tone of voice,” he explained. Pajamas, coats, and tailoring were softened and relaxed, with a lived-in ease that felt reassuring rather than resigned.
Still, this is MSGM, and its trademark zest for life refuses to stay muted for long. When the sun goes down, retreat gives way to release, and if hard times demand resilience, a party still remains a valid form of resistance. Evening wear burst forth with ruffles, ruches, and swathes of taffeta, lit up by reflective gold and silver surfaces. It was a reminder that optimism, like style, doesn’t disappear under pressure: it simply waits for the right moment to shine.
