La La Anthony Held Down the Red Carpet Livestream in Custom Wiederhoeft at the 2026 Met Gala
What does one wear to host the Met Gala livestream? If you’re La La Anthony—who held down the red carpet for the sixth consecutive year at the 2026 Met Gala alongside Ashley Graham and Cara Delevingne—you go classic yet glamorous, in a custom Wiederhoeft gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
“I wanted my look to feel like a piece of art that you could literally hang up on a wall. For me, that meant focusing on the details,” Anthony told Vogue, adding: “The look features intricate embroidery and beading that adds dimension and texture. Adding that texture was a complicated process, just like many great works of art.” As for the showstopping look’s adherence to the 2026 Met Gala’s “Costume Art” theme? “It gives body, which is perfectly aligned with this year’s theme,” said Anthony.

“Sometimes, Met prep can be stressful and last until the second you walk out the door. This year, I felt like I could take a deep breath and enjoy the day,” noted Anthony. “My final fitting was my favorite moment of the process. It was on the Friday before, and I put the dress on, and everything was perfect: the fit, the feel, and the look itself.”
In past years, Anthony has always delivered intentional approaches to the various Met Gala themes. Last year, for the evening celebrating Black dandyism, she donned a custom Off-White look that paid homage to the late designer Virgil Abloh. “Virgil was more than a designer,” Anthony previously told Vogue. “He was a visionary, he was my friend, and someone who changed the entire game for so many of us.” Her red carpet history proves that Anthony has always understood the Met Gala assignment—using fashion for storytelling—and this year was no different.
