Kenton Nelson’s “Early Morning”

For the cover of the November 24, 2025, issue, the artist Kenton Nelson painted a man waiting by a store window. “Walking through the city one early morning, looking for paintings, I was attracted to the mysterious interior light of a store,” Nelson said. “It was quiet and I was alone. I set a timer on my phone and took a photo of myself as the figure.”
