Kate Middleton’s BAFTA Dresses Through the Years: Jenny Packham, Alexander McQueen and More Red Carpet Looks

Since she became a senior member of the British royal family, Kate Middleton has attended several high-profile events. Not only do her public engagements include visits with charity organizations and cultural institutions, but also a few awards shows.

For years, the Princess of Wales has been a main fixture on the red carpet at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), which honor the best in cinema every year.

While she attended a few BAFTA-adjacent events after joining the royal family in 2011, Kate made her official BAFTA red carpet debut in 2017. The royal opted for a gown by one of her go-to designers for the occasion: Alexander McQueen.

McQueen styles and designs are a major part of Kate’s royal wardrobe, and the BAFTAs red carpet has been the ideal event to showcase those pieces with every year the royal’s attended.

Other designers Kate has worn to the film awards ceremony include Jenny Packham. Another of the royal’s favorite designers, Kate styled a gown by the London-based designer when she was pregnant in 2018.

Here, WWD breaks down the details for each of the Princess of Wales’s BAFTA red carpet looks through the years ahead of the 2025 BAFTAs.
