IDF probing mortar fire targeting Gaza terror activity that reportedly veered off course – source

Al Jazeera reported the attack was an Israeli airstrike, though the Israeli military has yet to comment.

IDF troops of the 16th Brigade fired mortars to disrupt terror operations on the outskirts of Gaza, a security source said on Wednesday, adding that, however, the fire appeared to have inadvertently deviated four kilometers and hit a vehicle, wounding four people.

The Southern Command has launched an investigation into the incident, the source affirmed.

Earlier, Palestinian media reported that a car had been attacked in the center of Gaza City.

The Qatari state-run outlet Al Jazeera reported the attack was an Israeli airstrike, though the Israeli military has yet to make an official comment.

The report added that 11 people were wounded.
