I turned 40 this year and decided to start investing more intentionally. Something about this compelled me to work toward bringing my wardrobe to the next level with the help of elevated, rich-looking pieces. I set out to do this with my upcoming fall outfits while shopping at current favorites, like Nordstrom, Zara, J.Crew, and Abercrombie & Fitch. I kept my budget around $150 per piece with a few stylish exceptions along the way.
