The Falcons enter Sunday’s game 6-4 on the season, comfortably atop the NFC South standings. Atlanta is coming off a tough loss, however, most recently falling 20-17 against a division rival, the New Orleans Saints. Quarterback Kirk Cousins wasn’t his usual reliable self against New Orleans, connecting on 23 of his 38 pass attempts for 306 yards with no touchdowns but one interception. Cousins will need to improve on those numbers if the Falcons are going to make noise in the playoffs this year.

Running back Bijan Robinson did his best to will Atlanta to victory, rushing 20 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns but ultimately, the rest of the Falcons’ offense wasn’t able to do enough to secure what would have been a huge win.
The Broncos, meanwhile, are coming off back-to-back losses, falling embarrassingly 41-10 against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 3 before suffering an even more back-breaking setback, 16-14 against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. The Broncos looked like they were going to steal a huge road win at the buzzer, setting up for a 35-yard kick for the usually reliable Will Lutz with one second left on the clock. But Lutz’ kick got blocked and Kansas City remained undefeated on the season.
Now, Denver enters Sunday’s game 5-5 on the season, sitting third in the AFC West, making a win against Atlanta crucial for Denver and its playoff hopes.
