Global Payments selects Uber Eats as preferred delivery partner
Payment technology and software solution provider Global Payments has named Uber Eats as its preferred delivery partner.
The company is integrating the food delivery platform into its Genius point-of-sale (POS) system for restaurant customers in the US and Canada.
Uber Delivery US and Canada head and vice-president Jose Garcia Pimentel stated: “Our deep integration with the powerful and feature-rich Genius platform aims to help make launching and accessing the benefits of Uber Eats faster and easier than ever.
“We are thrilled to work with Global Payments to help restaurants deliver an exceptional customer experience and grow their businesses.”
Restaurants using the Genius POS will be able to connect to Uber Eats directly from within the system through a self-service onboarding process.
Once integrated, orders placed via Uber Eats, along with any changes or cancellations, will update automatically in the Genius POS.
Global Payments’ camera vision system, part of the Genius platform, is designed to match each vehicle to its corresponding order.
Global Payments Genius restaurant president Chris Siefkin stated: “Our restaurant customers want help standing out from the crowd, and providing technology that enables accurate orders and speedy delivery is one of the best ways to help small and large restaurants alike deliver exceptional customer experiences.
“Our partnership with Uber Eats allows restaurants to operate with ease while enabling access to Uber Eats’ outstanding delivery and technology network to help restaurants reach and retain more customers.”
Drive-through coffee chain 7 Brew recently selected the Genius platform to manage ordering and back-of-house processes.
The tie-up between 7 Brew and Global Payments is intended to back the coffee chain’s expansion.
7 Brew Coffee chief technology officer Danyel Bischof-Forsyth stated: “As one of the fastest-growing coffee chains in the US, we are always striving to provide technology that makes our Brewistas’ jobs easier so they can better serve our customers.
“Together with Global Payments, we successfully implemented Genius at over 500 7 Brew locations.”
“Global Payments selects Uber Eats as preferred delivery partner” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
