Zamir’s comments came amid a situational assessment tour of the sector, accompanied by Southern Command chief Maj.-Gen. Yaniv Asor, 252nd Division chief Brig.-Gen. Yehuda Vach, Carmeli Brigade chief, Col. D., and other officers.

During the tour, Zamir visited Beit Hanun and Jabalya and held a conversation with IDF division commanders to review military activity and operations.

Zamir also commented on the ongoing investigations into the events of October 7, 2023, and the IDF’s failures, which led to Hamas’s terrorist massacre.

“We concluded the investigations in recent weeks,” Zamir said. “They constitute a decisive part in deriving lessons to prevent a future massacre.”

“We must move forward and grow, and we are taking the IDF towards learning, growth, and strengthening in order to prepare it for future challenges,” he added.
