Blue Ivy Carter is continuing to show off her talents. On Friday night, the 14-year-old joined her father, Jay-Z, onstage at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, for a special performance during his Jay-Z 30 Tour.
In footage shared by attendees, Blue can be seen playing piano alongside her father during a live rendition of “The Story of O.J.,” from his 2017 album 4:44. She also played during “Dead Presidents,” a track dating back to the earlier years of his career. The show marked the first of two Los Angeles performances celebrating three decades of Jay-Z’s music.
After Blue’s appearance, she was met by a wave of applause and embraced her father before acknowledging the crowd and leaving the stage.
Her mom, Beyoncé, was among those cheering her on in the crowd. The singer was spotted dancing and smiling from the VIP section. She was joined by her former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, who appeared to enjoy the show alongside her.
For the occasion, Blue Ivy wore a blue-and-red jacket that appeared to be vintage Rocawear, paired with silver chrome nails.
The moment comes after Jay-Z opened up about Blue’s musical abilities in a March interview with GQ. “Blue is a crazy pianist, but she won’t let us get her a teacher,” he said. “She doesn’t want it to be a job. But she has perfect pitch.”
He continued, explaining that Blue can hear a song and teach herself to play it. “That’s just talent, she doesn’t work at that,” he said, contrasting her natural musical ability with the hard work she put into performing as a dancer on Beyoncé’s Renaissance and Cowboy Carter tours.
“I don’t think we’re going to be able to get her off that stage now.”
