After Sifting Through Dozens of Conditioners, Our Editors Discovered the All-Time Best 9

I don’t know about you, but finding hair products that work for me can sometimes feel like a part-time job. There are a lot of different brands on the market, all of which promise similar things. And a lot of times, it can leave you wondering what will actually perform as it should. This is especially the case when it comes to conditioners since their function is to restore moisture after you clean your hair with shampoo. However, between common concerns like dryness, breakage, frizz, and thinning hair, I think it’s safe to say that it’s never about that one product that is universally good but rather what’s good for you and your specific needs.

Previously, the creative director at Aveda, Michael Lendon, gave Who What Wear UK a jumping-off point on how to find the right conditioner. For oily hair, he suggests clay-based conditioners, while those with fine hair should look for something lightweight. “Thicker, textured, and coarser hair needs heavier products,” says Lendon. “You really want to be looking out for conditioners that contain more emollients and are rich in butters.”
