The Unofficial Dress Code for the 2026 Met Gala Was Florals for Spring

This year’s Met Gala theme may have been “Costume Art,” but we saw a whole lot of florals that brought us back to 2024’s “The Garden of Time” gala.

Some of the best floral looks of the evening came from Jonathan Anderson and Dior, whose runway collections have been full of cyclamens and orchids, as seen on celebs like Jisoo, Alexa Chung, and Sunday Rose. It wasn’t just Dior, though—Lily Rose Depp’s Chanel gown was delicately embroidered with floral motifs throughout, and Charli XCX’s simple black gown from Saint Laurent featured a resin iris flower right at the center of the bust.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, florals for spring may not be groundbreaking, but they are a surefire way to look great on the red carpet—especially if that carpet happens to be inspired by Northern Italian gardens. Below, the best floral looks from the 2026 Met Gala.
