Simone Ashley’s Most Memorable Beauty Looks Are Always Bronzed, Ethereal, and Chic—9 I’m Itching to Copy
If you’ve been keeping up with Simone Ashley, then you know she’ll be taking over out screens all year. In February, audiences were reintroduced to her role as Kathani (Kate) Bridgerton in the long-awaited fourth season of Netflix‘s hit series Bridgerton, and weeks from now, she’ll be appearing in The Devil Wears Prada 2 as the fashionable new assistant to Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly. Apart from her acting chops, Ashley has made a name for herself as a beauty icon on red carpets, often in partnership with celebrity makeup artist Alex Babsky and L’Oréal Paris as an ambassador.
Below, I’m taking a deep dive into nine of my favorite beauty moments from her appearances at the Cannes Film Festival, Vanity Fair Oscar Party, The Met Gala, and beyond with exact product details and details on how they were created. In case you missed it this year’s Academy Awards was practically dripping with celebrity beauty inspiration, but the looks spotted on the silver carpet of the Vanity Fair Oscar Party set a new standard for star-studded annual events. The Bridgerton actress posed for eager cameras in a breathtaking Tamara Ralph column dress with eye-catching peacock feather details. The Buccellati diamond drop earrings were understated and elegant, just like her luminous makeup by Babsky. The berry-toned lips and blush created a pared-back, effortless glow.

Time and Place: Attending the Burberry show during London Fashion Week, February 2026
While attending the Burberry fashion show during London Fashion Week, Ashley was photographed wearing this bronzed makeup look that paired perfectly with an elegant mid-length trend coat and clutch by the brand. Here, her bronzed, sky-high cheekbones took center stage, but a dusting of highlighter across the nose bridge and on the other high points of her face deliver the intrigue. This time around, her wide, almond-shaped eyes were given sensuality with a matte, brown shadow and smoky wing.

Time and Place: Walks the runway during the Le Défilé. Liberté, Egalité, Sororité “You’re Worth It” L’Oréal Paris Womenswear Spring/Summer 2026 show as part of Paris Fashion Week, September 2025
While walking the runway during the L’Oréal Paris Womenswear Spring-Summer Show at last fall’s Paris Fashion Week, Ashley modeled a golden, 1970’s inspired mini dress with layers of light-catching, tassels. While her Donna Summer-esque frock was worth screenshotting for night time outfit inspiration, I was more drawn to the warm and toasted makeup look that combined a matte, mauve lip with spicy blush placed just above the cheekbones for a sun-kissed flush of color.

Time and Place: Attending the closing ceremony red carpet at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival, May 2025
This minimalist makeup look that Ashley wore to the closing ceremony of the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival was a masterclass in balancing a smooth, matte base with polished touches. Her velvety complexion skin wasn’t without natural-looking luminosity thanks to a glowy—not dewy—foundation, bronzer applied to the high points of her face, and sleek wing. Without a doubt, this look’s hero product was L’Oréal’s Infallible Up To 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Bronzer ($16), for the soft-matte finish and buildable coverage.

Time and Place: Attending The Mastermind red carpet at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival, May 2025
Ethereal and dewy makeup looks like the one Babsky created for Ashley to wear on the red carpet premiere of Kelly Reichardt’s The Mastermind have been living rent-free in my mind for months, but this one is as dreamy as it gets. I studied an Vanity Fair France YouTube video dedicated to the BTS of Ashley’s Cannes glam session, and noticed L’Oréal’s True Match Lumi Glotion Glow Enhancer in Deep Glow ($18) was used to deliver unreal glow to the face and body (also confirmed by Babsky in the caption of his Instagram post).

Time and Place: Attending the Chanel Womenswear Fall/Winter 2025-2026 show as part of Paris Fashion Week, March 2025
This is one of my favorite recent looks worn by Ashley because while her bronzed, glowy skin is still her signature, the elegant makeup she wore to this star-studded event included cool berry tones. At Chanel’s Womenswear Fall/Winter show this past Paris Fashion Week, her makeup reflected in the stunning purple, black, and green tweed suit. The glistening threads of her jacket were echoed in the shimmering gold eyeshadow while the addition of orange blush adds warmth to matte mauve lips.

Time and Place: Attending The Fashion Awards 2024 presented by Pandora, December 2024
If you’ve noticed an uptick in the number of old Hollywood-inspired looks you’ve spotted on the red carpet of recent awards shows, you’re not alone. I’ve frequently screenshotted several of these in hopes of recreating for special occasions, but I’m especially drawn to the Audrey Hepburn-like touches of the one Ashley wore to the 2024 Fashion Awards. Its flirty lashes and sleek wing give her almond-shaped eyes added dimension when framed below these defined brows, and the bold berry lips added an unexpected, modern twist.

Time and Place: Attending the Costume Institute Benefit for “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, May 2024
Ashley is no stranger to a bit of drama (she is an actress, after all), but this moody, ’70s-inspired makeup look is one of the boldest red carpet we’ve seen from her so far. Mauve lips were lined with a deep, brown shade to for a vintage take on one of the year’s biggest trends. The purple hues of her beaded dress were played up by the fig-colored shadow taken across the lids and blended out into dusty gray hues. Peachy blush on her cheek bones added a splash of warmth to her bronzed skin.

Time and Place: Attending the Costume Institute Benefit for “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, May 2022
The first time I fell in love with how earthy makeup tones looked on Ashley was when she attending the 2022 Met Gala in a Jeremy Scott by Moschino ensemble that looked as if it was plucked from the Gilded Age with a cropped gold bustier high-waisted bias-cut skirt, and a dramatic black opera coat. Her makeup was just as glamorous with sparkling, warm bronzer on the temples and cheeks, a dusty brown shade on the lids, and cool-toned pink lips.
