A suspected drug dealer barricaded himself in his home in Jerusalem after officers arrived to arrest him on Wednesday afternoon, the Israel Police said.

A Special Patrol Unit arrived shortly after the standoff, broke into the suspect’s house, and arrested him.

Police found a toy pistol and a knife in his possession.

Nine suspects arrested after undercover drug investigation

Police also announced on Wednesday that nine suspected drug dealers had been arrested across the country, after three months of work by an undercover agent.

The agent had posed as a customer and made contact with each dealer, pretending to purchase the drugs from them and gathering evidence for the police.

Over the course of the arrests, police seized large quantities of various drugs, vehicles, and cash.
