Israeli forces kill two Palestinians suspected of West Bank attacks
Israeli forces have killed two suspected Palestinian attackers in the West Bank, the Israeli military said on Tuesday.
In one case, soldiers arrived at a location near the city of Ramallah after receiving a tip about a suspect, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
The man then allegedly stabbed the Israeli troops, prompting them to shoot him. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the man was 18 years old.
The Magen David Adom emergency service said two young men were slightly injured in the suspected attack by the Palestinian.
In a separate incident, soldiers killed a Palestinian overnight in connection with a suspected car attack in the Hebron area that left an Israeli soldier injured, the IDF reported.
Security forces found the suspect in a car with which he had allegedly rammed into Israeli forces the previous evening.
Troops shot and killed the suspect after he tried to flee and endangered Israeli forces, the IDF added.
The dead suspect was 17 years old, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
Tensions in the occupied West Bank have escalated since the war in Gaza, which broke out following the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel.
Figures from the Palestinian Health Ministry suggest at least 1,019 Palestinians have since been killed in Israeli military operations, armed clashes and attacks in the West Bank. Radical Israeli settlers are also increasingly attacking Palestinians in the territory.
