Billionaire Yohan Poonawalla Adds Legendary Toyota Supra MKIV to His Expansive Car Collection
Indian industrialist Yohan Poonawalla has added one of Japan’s most celebrated sports cars, the Toyota Supra MKIV, to his already world-class collection of luxury and vintage automobiles. The acquisition marks the first Japanese Domestic Market vehicle in the famed YZP collection, long known for its array of Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, and rare European classics.
The Supra, best known for its legendary 2JZ engine and 1990s performance heritage, was purchased by Poonawalla’s son, Zayan. Photos shared online show the father and son standing alongside their new car, with the vehicle’s previous owner also present. Additional images show the Supra parked within the YZP collection’s impressive garage, positioned next to a 1974 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster and surrounded by multiple Rolls-Royce Phantom VII models, along with a mix of vintage and modern Bentleys.
The Supra had been carefully maintained and modified by its prior owner, who documented the car’s restoration before transferring it to the Poonawalla family. Zayan was later seen driving the car across the family’s farmland — a fitting first drive for a vehicle that has become a modern icon.
Beyond this new addition, Poonawalla’s automotive portfolio remains among the most prestigious in India. Earlier this year, he acquired one of the country’s most expensive Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII Extended Wheelbase sedans, finished in Bohemian Red and equipped with a solid gold Spirit of Ecstasy. His collection reportedly includes more than 20 Rolls-Royces, several Bentleys, and even a 2016 Range Rover once used by Queen Elizabeth II during official duties in the United Kingdom.
The addition of the Toyota Supra MKIV not only diversifies the YZP lineup but also underscores Poonawalla’s growing appreciation for global automotive icons that combine engineering excellence with cultural legacy.
